TGP International was appointed to manage and deliver the pre- and post-contract stages for Flamingo Room by tashas, a multi-concept fine dining destination located within the prestigious The Galleria Al Maryah Island in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The project forms part of a carefully curated collection of luxury hospitality and retail concepts that bring together elevated dining, lifestyle retail and nightlife experiences within one of the city’s most prominent retail and leisure destinations.

The Brief

TGP International was engaged to oversee the delivery of this complex hospitality project within the premium environment of The Galleria Mall. The appointment required the coordination and management of multiple project stages, ensuring that the design intent and operational requirements of the venue were successfully realised within a high-profile retail setting.

The 1,400 sq m venue is arranged across two levels and incorporates several distinct experiences within a single destination. These include an upscale restaurant, a luxury retail boutique, a high tea lounge and an opulent bar and nightclub offering views across Al Maryah Island. TGP International oversaw the project’s progression through the pre- and post-contract phases, coordinating consultants, contractors and stakeholders to ensure the concept was delivered to the standards expected within one of Abu Dhabi’s most prestigious shopping destinations.

The Concept / Brand

Flamingo Room by tashas forms part of the celebrated tashas Group portfolio, one of South Africa’s most recognised hospitality brands and a name that has developed a strong following across the UAE. Founded by Natasha Sideris, the brand is known for its design-led restaurants that combine sophisticated interiors, curated details and vibrant dining experiences.

Across its portfolio, tashas Group places a strong emphasis on atmosphere and aesthetics, creating spaces that are both visually distinctive and socially engaging. Its venues are characterised by refined design, expressive materials and a carefully considered balance between luxury and warmth, making the brand particularly popular across the region.

Flamingo Room reflects this philosophy through a glamorous interpretation of African elegance. The interior draws inspiration from the textures, colours and craftsmanship of the African continent, layering bold patterns, rich finishes and curated decorative elements to create an immersive fine dining environment. Overlooking the restaurant is Collective by Charles Greig, a retail space showcasing carefully selected accessories and lifestyle pieces sourced from across Africa, reinforcing the concept’s celebration of African culture and design.

The Flamingo Room concept has also received international recognition, winning the Best Regional Interior Design award at the Harper's Bazaar Interiors Awards for its Jumeirah Al Naseem location in 2017.

TGP International’s role included design management, advisory services, construction management, risk management, procurement for multiple contractor packages and overall budget management, ensuring the successful delivery of this multi-layered hospitality concept within The Galleria, Abu Dhabi.
